Caldwell 57 (NGC 6822) also known as the Barnard's galaxy is a barred irregular galaxy located within the constellation Sagittarius.

C57 is best viewed during Summer, is magnitude 8.8*, and can be viewed with binoculars. It is 10 x 9' in size. For reference, the full moon is 30' (arc minutes) in size.
